COVER STORY: With no cars allowed, Mackinac Island in Michigan is indeed like taking a trip back in time. Join us on a horse-drawn carriage for an up-close look at this popular resort.

SCENIC AMERICA: The "natural bridge" at Natural Bridge State Park in Kentucky is the centerpiece of the park which contains 2300 acres of wilderness. About half the park is designated as a nature preserve.
OFF THE BEATEN PATH: Comic book fans know that Metropolis is the home of Superman but they may not know that Metropolis, Illinois is the home of the Superman Museum.  A well-known landmark in the Ohio River town is the giant Superman Statue.

ON A MUSICAL NOTE: The Music House Museum near Traverse, Michigan displays some terrific player pianos and pipe organs that were part of the evolution of music in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
TIME CAPSULE: Hundreds of Model A Fords descended on French Lick, Indiana for the national convention of the Model A Restorers' Club.  Owners displayed a wide variety of model styles, including vehicles that were adapted into the trucks and utility vehicles.

SUMMER FEATURE: "Our American Pride is Showing," read one of the signs at Hamilton, Ohio's July 4th Parade.  Red, white and blue banners and bunting seemed to be everywhere at the daylong event, typical of Independence Day celebrations across the land.
