COVER STORY: Re-enactors at Historic Fort Wayne, Indiana portray characters of the Revolutionary War era, demonstrating what everyday life was like in the 18th century. Cannon fire and a military skirmish are part of the program. 
 

 
SCENIC AMERICA: Laurel River Lake near Corbin, Kentucky is a man-made body of water but it still exudes natural beauty. The deep waters and quiet shores are perfect for recreation and solitude.  

 
 

ON A MUSICAL NOTE: There's lots of brass and a New Orleans jazz sound at concerts by the Nasty Nati Brass Band. The group's concert in Covington, Kentucky drew lots of audience participation. 
 

OFF THE BEATEN PATH: Yellow Springs, Ohio is a quiet town not far from Dayton with a vibrant artist's community and lots of charm. In addition to a nature preserve, a popular bike trail runs through the town. 

 

TIME CAPSULE: Classic autos, from Model Ts to Corvettes, are on display at a car show along the Ohio River. The show has been held for nearly 30 years.
 
SUMMER FEATURE: Visitors to Young's Jersey Dairy Farm outside Yellow Springs, Ohio get up close views of cows and goats. The farm also features food and activities for people of all ages.
