The first sentimental production for Sentimental Productions was created as a one-hour television special in 1988, the year Delaney Communications, Inc. began. Titled The Unsinkable Delta Queen, it's the entertaining story of the Delta Queen Steamboat and was produced to commemorate the river heritage of Cincinnati during the city's Bicentennial Celebration.
Soon, under the trade name Sentimental Productions, we were producing more and more entertaining and informative videos capturing the heritage, culture and music of America.
Now, after more than 125 subsequent programs, we continue to broadly fix our gaze on America: In Story, Scenery and Song. Our love for storytelling is expressed in Sentimental Reflections. Each 45-minute program follows our three themes.
The stories range from John Glenn's historic space flight to a visit to an Apple Festival in Nebraska. The Scenic America installment each quarter presents terrific scenery from across the United States. And On A Musical Note is an entertaining segment with a wide variety of musical styles and performances.
We also have other distinctive video series. The Unsinkable Delta Queen is part of The Americana Series, which also includes The Signs & Rhymes of Burma-Shave, Roadsters, Rumbleseats & Country Drives and Dream Trains, Short Hops & Whistle Stops.
The Sentimental Sing-Along Collection includes 20 separate volumes with lively performances of classic and memorable songs that have been sung by generations of Americans.
Our scenery series is called Sentimental Serenity, with 10 videos exploring some of the best scenery in the nation. The programs are designed so viewers can choose to simply soak in the beauty of the landscapes with relaxing music, or opt for the narrative which offers a brief commentary for the locations featured in each video. The scenery programs can also be streamed on the Sentimental Digital Network.
Timeless Trivia by Sentimental Productions presents trivia questions, answers and commentary. There are 21 episodes, each following a them. Programs range from 35 to 45 minutes in length.
Other enjoyable series are 20th Century Flashbacks and Time Capsules by Sentimental Productions.
